The soldiers of Wigton who died during World War Two are to be remembered with a special memorial in a town church.
Wigton’s Royal British Legion will dedicate a memorial painting at St Mary’s Church on April 18.
British Legion member Derek Williamson said the painting has been created by local artist Amanda Evans.
“It is to remember the 33 men that were lost during the war,” he said.
“The Army Cadets and the Scouts will be there for the service. It is also to keep the youngsters aware of what happened in the past.
“We have been working on this for two years and are delighted it has been realised.”
The service will take place at the church from 9.30am.
