The community police team in Wigton cover a large geographical area and the team understands the importance of being seen around the town and being a recognisable face among the local community.

Giving Wigton a voice

Neighbourhood Forum Meeting Our local neighbourhood forum has always been about giving the people of Wigton a voice. It was set up fifteen years ago by the County Council and is still working hard supporting local projects and representing the interests of Wigton residents. Pat Ackred works for the forum and is the local neighbourhood development officer. It's a long title but Pat has a key role. The forum ensures that everyone gets to have their say.

Treading the boards

Wigton 28.1.2008.Eva Cook in Wigton Theatre Clubs production of Playhouse Creatures Wigton theatre has been putting on shows for over fifty years thanks to the hard work of local members and volunteers. A case of dry rot is proving costly this year but repairs are underway and actors will be treading the boards with a little more confidence at the group's next performance during October.

The Youth Station Summer Project Wigton Youth Station will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary on the 1st August this year and is planning a reunion for everyone who has played a part in its success.
