Welcome to Wigtonlocal
Last updated at 11:59, Friday, 01 August 2008
This is the first “hyper-local” website launched by the News & Star.
It aims to provide the Wigton community with a website that is packed full of information and useful links as well as a taste of the news and sport from the News & Star and its sister paper, the Times & Star.
We aim to make the site as open as possible to people in the community who may like to contribute news, pictures and information.
So if you run a local group you can have your own page on this site or if you’ve got something to say you can join in the conversation at Wigtonlocal.
And any information or news you contribute to this site is likely to be used by the News & Star to improve its Wigton coverage.
In time we will be offering training in conjunction with the University of Cumbria to Wigton residents who want to contribute on a regular basis to this website.
But for now if you want to get involved email either:
Wigton reporter at snewstead@cngroup.co.uk
OR Nick Turner, CN Group’s head of digital content, at nturner@cngroup.co.uk
