Carlisle man found dead in field in west Cumbria

A Carlisle man has been found dead in a field in west Cumbria.
The body of 58-year-old Eric Abbott, of The Crescent, was discovered by a dogwalker close to Mirehouse pond in Whitehaven at about 6.30pm on Sunday.
Police attended the scene and recovered the body.
Officers have said that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and have handed the case over to the coroner.
An inquest is expected to be opened and adjourned this week.
